Petra Vanlinden
Program Director
Petra spent eight years teaching music composition at a regional conservatory before shifting her focus to how AI tools were changing the creative process. She designs the overall lecture sequence and keeps the curriculum grounded in what students actually encounter when they open a tool like Claude AI for the first time.
Oskar Threnholm
Lead Instructor — AI & Music Systems
Oskar built audio synthesis tools for a decade before moving into education. His lectures cover the technical side of generative music — how language models like Claude interpret musical structure, where they succeed, and where they still fall short. He runs the live demonstration sessions that students consistently describe as the most clarifying part of the program.
Saoirse Delacey
Visual Arts & Generative Media
Saoirse's background is in digital illustration and interactive installation work. She leads the visual arts track, focusing on how AI tools interact with image-making, style transfer, and authorship questions that practicing artists face daily.
How the team works
Teaching from the middle of the field
Nobody here teaches from a fixed position on AI and art.
The team actively uses tools like Claude and Claude AI in their own creative work, which means the lectures stay current and honest. When a tool behaves unexpectedly, that becomes part of the session — not something to edit out. Students from across the state join these lectures knowing they'll get a view from practitioners who are still figuring things out alongside them, not presenting conclusions from a distance.

Tibor Ferenczi Guest — Computational Musicology
Tibor contributes a session each semester on how AI systems are being used in musicological research — pattern detection in large archives, transcription assistance, and the limitations of automated analysis when applied to non-Western musical traditions.

Nneka leads a recurring discussion on ownership, attribution, and what it means to call something yours when an AI like Claude AI contributed to its creation. Her sessions draw heavily on her work with independent musicians navigating these questions practically.

Rafał reviews the technical content of the AI music track to make sure explanations of model behavior stay accurate. He works in audio machine learning professionally and flags when something in the curriculum has drifted from how systems actually function.
